Scientists and intellectuals
Discussed logic and theology
Pondered science and philosophy
With civility and decorum
And a semblance of respect for others.
Then the Great Unwashed Masses showed up and fucked everything up.

When I look at the earlier-adopter crowd I used to hang with, and the slack-jawed clueless ones I hand with now, I have to say I have way more fun with the latter...
That was more directed at people who comment on YouTube than slack-jawed yokels. Actually, it wasn't really directed at anyone, I just found it humorous after staying up much too late.
